SC-ST Awareness Program on 13th September,2024

Aim: To raise awareness about the constitutional rights and government schemes available to
Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), while also fostering a deeper understanding of
social justice and equality.

Objectives of the Program

• To spread awareness about the rights of SCs and STs.

• To educate participants on the various government schemes for SC and ST communities.

• To promote equality and highlight the importance of eradicating discrimination.

• To encourage discussions on social and economic inclusion for SCs and STs.

Program Details

The program began with an inauguration ceremony, Dr. Sanjesh Rathi, Chairman, SC-ST Cell welcomed all. He spread awareness about the rights of SCs and STs. and to take participants on the various government schemes for SC and ST communities. To promote equality and highlight the importance of eradicating discrimination the group of Students performed Nukkad Natak addressing the issues of SC-ST in the society and explain its corrective measures through effective speech in local language.

The Key Topics Discussed

Constitutional Safeguards: The participants were informed about constitutional provisions such as Article 15, 17, and the role of the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

• Government Welfare Schemes: Dr. Nita Solanki provided detailed insights into welfare programs such as scholarships, health schemes, housing, and economic upliftment plans for SC and ST communities.

• Challenges Faced by SCs and STs: A discussion on the social and economic challenges these communities face, along with real-life examples and case studies, was held. This part of the program allowed for an interactive session where participants could ask questions and share their experiences.

• Social Justice and Inclusion: Dr. Sanjesh Rathi emphasized the role of education, skill development, and affirmative action in ensuring equal opportunities for SCs and STs.

Outcome of the Program

The program successfully raised awareness among participants about the rights and welfare schemes available to SCs and STs. It also provided a platform for discussion on the challenges these communities face and possible solutions for achieving equality and social justice.

Many participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn about their rights and the various schemes available to them. Several participants shared personal experiences, which highlighted the need for continued efforts toward social justice and equality.

The SC-ST Awareness Program was a great success, meeting its objective of educating participants and encouraging dialogue about the issues faced by marginalized communities. The organizing committee is hopeful that the awareness generated will lead to positive action and a more inclusive society.
