GENDER EQUALITY : BUILDING A BETTER SOCIETY on 29th January 2025

On 29th January 2025, Rai University, through its Office of Students Welfare and the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized an event titled “Gender Equality: Building a Better Society.” The event aimed to address critical issues surrounding gender equality and its importance in creating a more inclusive and equitable society. It provided a platform for students, faculty, and experts to engage in meaningful discussions, raise awareness, and inspire action.

The main objective of the event was to raise awareness about the current state of gender equality globally and locally, while also promoting an open dialogue about the challenges and opportunities for progress. It sought to empower participants to take proactive steps toward fostering inclusivity in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

A key segment of the event was the panel discussion, where experts in gender studies, social activism, and the corporate sector discussed various dimensions of gender equality. Topics included the global and national status of gender equality, the role of education in overcoming gender stereotypes, gender-based violence, and effective policies to promote equality. The discussion underscored the need for systemic change and the importance of creating inclusive spaces in both schools and workplaces.

The event also included student testimonials, where individuals shared personal stories about their experiences with gender equality, providing a real-world perspective on the importance of the issue. These stories helped reinforce the message that gender equality is not just an abstract concept but a real-life challenge that affects everyone.

In the closing remarks, all attendees were urged to continue advocating for gender equality and to apply the knowledge gained during the event to become active agents of change in their communities. The event was a success in raising awareness about the importance of gender equality and inspiring participants to take action. It highlighted Rai University’s commitment to fostering social responsibility and empowering students to create positive change. Through this initiative, the university reinforced its dedication to promoting a holistic education that encourages students to engage with vital social issues.
