About the Committee

The Cyber Hygiene & Cybercrime Awareness Committee of Rai University, Ahmedabad is dedicated to promoting cybersecurity awareness, digital responsibility, and safe technology practices among students, faculty, and staff. The cell serves as a platform to educate the university's academic community about emerging cyber threats, online fraud, data privacy, cyber ethics, and the responsible use of digital technologies.

The Cyber Cell conducts awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, webinars, and training programmes on cybersecurity, digital safety, cyber laws, social media responsibility, and cybercrime prevention — encouraging students to adopt secure online practices while enhancing their knowledge of cyber hygiene, password security, phishing prevention, and data protection.

Never share your password

  • Use a strong and secure password.
  • Never share your OTP, banking details, or password with anyone.

Do not click on suspicious links

  • Be cautious of messages, WhatsApp links, or emails from unknown sources.
  • Do not trust fake messages about lotteries, prizes, job offers, or similar schemes.

  • Always use a screen lock on your mobile device.
  • Download applications only from trusted and authorized sources.

Use social media carefully

  • Do not disclose your personal or sensitive information publicly.
  • Do not accept friend requests from unknown persons.

Beware of fraudulent phone calls

  • Do not share personal, banking, Aadhaar, ATM, KYC, or other sensitive information over suspicious calls.

  • If you notice any cyber fraud, suspicious activity, or security incident, inform the IT Department immediately.
