With the objective of adding additional value to the engineering education, a workshop for Energy Conservation and Management was organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rai University Ahmedabad in cooperation with Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA). Such workshop has been offered by GEDA since 2005 to various institutions. The purpose of the workshop was to provide an opportunity to interact and learn about actual industrial environment for the students.
The workshop was conducted with the assistance of two GEDA authorized energy auditors and experts from Swajal Technologies, Anand for the final year engineering students and faculty members of Rai University. The experts covered various new contents at each level, industrial, residential and domestic level. The specific topics discussed were recent trends of energy in India, energy efficiency in lighting system, pumps, motors, cooling towers, variable frequency drives, boilers, furnace, air compressor and different utilities in industrial & domestic level and potentiality of renewable energy sources.
