Known by the slogan “Give me your blood, and I shall give you freedom” Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha on January 23, in the year 1897. He was the great freedom fighter who served India as a valiant warrior and raised the first Indian National Army (INA), Azad Hind Fauj in 1943 and started an armed coup and inspired thousands of Indian youths to join the struggle for independence from the British colonial rule. Netaji was a key figure in India’s freedom movement; he is considered by many as one of the greatest leaders ever born.
On the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose 124th birth anniversary, glowing tributes were paid by Rai University students and staff members.
The function commenced with welcome note by Prof. Tushar Gamit and Prof. Yagnesh Rathod who motivated the Students by touching some of the untouched aspects of Netaji s life. Dean Dr. K. V. Patel inspired the students to follow Netaji’s footsteps of patriotism and bravery.
Elocution competition was held on Netaji Subhashchandra Bose. The participants confidently portrayed the aspects and interesting incidents of the great freedom fighter. This event was judged by Dr. Sandesh Chibber and Dr. Sailesh Iyer. The winner was Mr. Bishnu Prasad Das and runner up Miss Hetvi Soni. The event ended with a tribute and pledge to follow the ideals set by Netaji.
