Independence Day celebration at Rai University

On 15 August 2018, Rai University, Ahmedabad celebrated Independence day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion.

               Provost, Dr. Kartik Jain, Prof. Anil Tomar (Dy. provost & Registrar), Dr. K V Patel (Dean- Agriculture Dpt), Dr. D M Patel (Prof. Of Mechanical Dpt) graced the occasion.
                The Indian/ National tricolor flag was unfurled in the University field in the morning by the Provost, Dr. Kartik Jain and Prof. Anil Tomar (Dy. provost & Registrar).All the students and teachers together sang the national anthem and saluted the flag. Thereafter, the cultural program began. Dr. K V Patel (Dean-Agriculture Dpt) and Dr. D M Patel (Prof. Of Mechanical Dpt) welcomed the invitees, Directors, HODs, Faculties and students with a welcome speech. The motivation speech urged today’s generation to value the freedom we have secured after the sacrifices of many. This speech had an embarking mark on everyone’s mind and atmosphere was filled with more enthusiasm and provoked the spirit in all to do something as a Nationalist.

                The function was then followed by student’s performances which included varied cultural events. There was speech by a student representative which drew the attention of all towards the supreme sacrifice by the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom. She also said that the freedom was very precious and it was very necessary to preserve it. She also recited a poem based on the same. There was another speech which focused on the freedom for females and their security in the Nation. There was a patriotic dance performance which made the sentiments drool out. It was a tribute to all the military forces who fight day in and day out to help us lead a safe life. There was a Debate on the theme of religion which pointed out the differentiation done on the basis of caste and creed. Some students also performed a skit portraying the reality of media and how an independent citizen suffers. This was again an eye opening thing for all of us. All these performances by the students were truly overwhelming.

                The program indeed paid homage to the efforts of the numerous freedom fighters of India.
The colorful presentation received much deserved applause from the audience present. The event completed very successfully. Post this cultural extravaganza, students participated in Garba and relished the glory of independence.
