The orientation program is an opportunity for any student to learn, how to navigate the campus and a formal welcome to the students to Rai University family and introduce to them with the culture of university.
Rai University organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted students at the institute premises in the span of three days. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.
Day 1: 1st August, 2019
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the students and their parents by Dr. Anil Tomar (Provost). In his speech, he emphasized on the concept of the art of learning and how to make learning easier. “College life is a bridge from the school life to the world of work” quoted Dr. Anil Tomar (Provost).
Dr. Lalit Adhikari (Registrar) applauded all the new comers and also inspired them by his talk about importance of education in today’s society. Prof. Veerendrasingh Nagoria (Dy. Registrar- Academics) gave detailed information about institution, infrastructure, and research activities at the institution.
Prof. Nita Solanki introduced to Welfare Committees followed by the Examination system at RU by Prof. Sandesh Chibber. There was an interesting ice-breaking session by Prof. Hardik Solanki followed by student visit to Respective Department Guided by concerned HOD. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Sonali Changla.
Day 2: 2nd August, 2019
The program started with an ice breaking session by Prof. Pradip Maradiya and Prof. Hardik Solanki. All the students participated in Quiz and Jambling games with a great enthusiasm. Prof. Ashish Rami introduced to International Affair Department and its activities followed by Placement Overview and Alumni Feedback by Prof. Sonali Changla.
In the era of digitalization students must be aware about digital platforms for the education. A brief about Digitalization in Education at RUG was presented by Prof. Jigar Pandya and followed by the activities of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan by Prof. Pradeep Kumar Singh. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Afsana Dholakiya.
Day 3: 5th August, 2019
Following the traditional rituals and for wishing a delightful journey to ahead, the orientation program was commenced with Hawan and Pooja. The students were welcomed by ‘Swagat Tilak’ by faculties. The later part of the function was solely dedicated to the student’s welcome under which they were attended by Prof. Veerendra Nagoria (Dy. Registrar-Academic) Rai University. He also briefly revisited the journey of Rai University and explained the motivation and philosophy of the University.
The program was followed by the presence of guest speaker Mr Jagrut from Industry to share his professional journey. Students were addressed by Dr. Soham made the students aware by the achievements and mile stones that RU has achieved with constant pursuance of excellence. Training and placement officer, Prof. Sonali Changla, shared the industrial tie-ups and placement ratios of previous years along with the awareness regarding the higher education at the esteemed foreign universities. Ms. Zoya Saiyed, alumni, shared ERASMUS PLUS Experience of university of Pardubice, Czech Republic along with Prof. Ashish Rami.
To make with more live and student’s centered the newbies were asked to participate in ‘Best Indian and Western Dress up Competition’. There was an open session for freshers to showcase their talents in the different category of events like Acting, Dancing and Singing. The results were awesome, as they showed up really well. All the winners were felicitated with surprise gifts. A vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Afsana Dholakiya. The program was ended with the prize distribution followed by National anthem.
