A workshop on ‘Research Methodology and Application of Statistical Tools’ was held on 24th February, 2018 with the co-ordination of Rai Business School and Centre for Research & Development at Rai University, Ahmedabad. Dr. Nirav Halvadia and Dr. Vipul Patel were the main speakers of the workshop. More than 70 participants including teachers, PhD scholars and students took an opportunity for being a part of the workshop. The first session was conducted by Dr. Nirav Halvadia, where participants had learnt the basic meaning of research, types of research, scales used in research methodology and scaling techniques in depth. In the end all learners got in depth knowledge of research methodology and the format of research design for thesis. This workshop had provided a pathway to research scholar. Expert had given practical exercise to be solved by all to make understand in profundity. So, all Participants experienced practically that how to convert the theoretical knowledge in the practical (Actual Research Process).
The second session was delivered by Dr. Vipul Patel. In this session, all participants had learnt about the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software which is used for data analysis. Participants had gone through the basics of SPSS data sheet and their views, different tests which are being used to analyze data, scope of the tests. In second part of the session, expert focused on research paper, importance and different types of it. All participants had discussed with expert and cleared their queries.
The prime objective of this workshop was to provide a platform for the academicians, research scholars, and students to discuss the advancement and present trends of research and its benefits. They gained a good knowledge of research methodology. Participants were very satisfied with the workshop.
In this workshop programme, Dr. Kartik Jain (Provost), Prof. Anil Tomar (Deputy Provost and Registrar), Prof. Veerendra Nagoria (Director of Academics & Academic Administration), Dr. K.V. Patel (Dean, School of Agriculture) and other HODs had graced the event with their valuable presence. The sessions were concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Ashish Rami (Director, CRD) and Prof. Hardik Solanki (HOD, Rai Business School).
