Rai University always believes firmly in linking the student’s classroom learning experience with an actual exposure and applicability in an industry environment. As a part of on-field learning exercise, the Corporate Resource Cell organized a half day long industrial visit on 12th November 2014 to KHS Machinery one of the leading packaging and Filing Organization. The students of B.Tech Engineering specializing in Electronics & Communication and Electrical & Electronics Engineering were the main attendees with the focus centered on the Automation department of the organization.
The Industrial visit was aimed at creating awareness among students regarding the automation system used in the filing and packaging industry. Boasting of a 140 years’ long legacy and experience in the development of filling and packaging systems, KHS Machinery have the expertise to create innovative and sustainable solutions for the future. In particular in the area of developing PET containers and perfectly matched filling lines, KHS is one of the world’s leading suppliers.
The personnel in-charge in the automation department Mr. Raviprakash Singh & Mr. Abhishek Chander explained and guided the students in detail regarding the working of the automation process of the company and a brief outline of the packaging and refilling processes of the company. They were also guided about the PLC & SCADA systems of automation design which form a part of the regular student syllabi.
The students were also privileged with some useful career guidance and statement of expectations of the industry from prospective graduates by Ms. Nidhi Sharma, the HR Manager of KHS Machinery who also answered some queries from the students with great enthusiasm and positivity.
The students got a lot of insight on the Automation, Filling & packaging, pasteurizing, PET processing, Aseptic filling, Filling, Cleaning, Keg systems, Inspection, Labeling, Thermal container treatment, Packing systems, Pouching, Conveying, Palletizing under single machines and a practical exposure of different machines and their functioning. Overall the students found the experience as a knowledge enrichment and exposure opportunity; thanks to the active efforts of Rai University CRC Team.
