The Corporate Resource Cell of Rai University organized a visit to the well-known Indo German Tool as a part of its enterprise to help the students understand the manufacturing of the Industrial Machines. The students of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Semester III & Diploma Mechanical Semester IV were the prime beneficiaries from this industrial visit. Mr. Motiwala was the resource person in support of the institute.
Indo-German Tool Room, Ahmedabad is a Govt. of India Society established with the technical and financial co-operation from Govt. of Federal Republic of Germany, under DC (MSME Tool Room). It is one of the leading Tool Rooms in western part of India. Guided by the Faculties of IGTR and CRC Team the students went from one section to another. Indo German Tool Room Ahmedabad is training Centre engaged in production of tools of precision plastic & metal component and also engaged in area of Training in tool and die making, CAD/CAM & CNC Technology. It has established as the most reliable source for SME’s for their tooling requirements. Besides tool room activities, society permits use of its resources to industries like precision machining, quality control and CAD-CAM-CAE-RPT services.
Students were explained in detail about working methods of all the machines by the staff at the premises, further they were divided into three groups and they visited Quality control, Training rooms & Production facility to get the detail insight of the production and functioning of the organization. Students were also briefed about the manufacturing of various equipments undertaken by IGTR. A Q/A session was conducted by Mr. Motiwala, he interacted with the students and solved their queries. The main objective behind this visit was to explain how the different types of machines like lathe M/c, Drilling M/c, and Milling M/c, CNC turning, CNC milling, EDM M/c and EDM wire cut M/c, Profile projector and Tool maker microscope work and to explain the students and tell them about the expectations of the industrialists from modern budding engineering.
The students and all the staff members have enjoyed the technical Endeavour at the “Indo-Germanic tool room” a lot. The company persons also appreciated our students after the question answer sessions. The visit was very informative and gave a good learning experience. The students learnt a lot about Industrial Machines, their capacity in production facilities and their correct use with proper safety. It was the unique example of “EDUTAINMENT” i.e. Education & Entertainment.
