The Corporate Resource Cell organized a visit into the “Taste of India” Brand Amul’s Factory at Anand. The students pursuing MBA Semester 1, BBA Semester 1 and LLB Semester V were the prime beneficiaries of this visit. The Students were guided around the Amul premises by Mr. Sundaran on behalf of the company.
Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative, based at Anand, Gujarat. It is formed in 1946, it is a brand managed by a cooperative body, the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF). Amul spurred India’s White Revolution, which made the country the world’s largest producer of milk and milk products. In the process Amul became the largest food brand in India and has ventured into markets overseas.
The objective of this visit was to provide a unique opportunity for management students to gain an insight into a working environment related to a subject area and understanding the talent gap between the industry freshmen and industry expectations.
The tour was initiated with a short presentation of Amul Industries, introduction and brief trip of the Amul museum. The resource person gave a small insight into the history of Amul Industries and guided the students through the quality Control, Processing, Refrigeration and Packaging Section. The guide also gave some insights into the operations and distribution management of milk and milk products and some of the popular marketing strategies like Competitor Mapping and also the “Butterly Board” which highlighted cartoons related to current issues. The students were also briefed about the expectations of the corporate from fresh and nurturing potential talent
The students found the visit to be highly energizing as they took a short view into the working of the “Taste of India” Brand.
