Guest Lecture – Quintiles Research Pvt. Ltd.- Sr. Project Coordinator – Ms. Jaya – 27th March 2015 – Corporate Resource Cell

Every Science student has an inquisitive gene in his/her brain willing to get answers to a lot of questions haunting their minds. The Corporate Resource Cell recently organized a guest lecture and invited Ms. Jaya, Sr. Project Coordinator at Quintiles Research Pvt. Ltd. to brief the students with her insights and experience on the topic of Molecular Mechanism of Drug Action. The students of B.Sc. Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology; B.Tech Biotechnology attended the lecture with great enthusiasm and Interest.
Ms. Jaya has an experience spanning almost five years as Clinical Research Professional & Science post graduate in Biochemistry, along with it holding Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research from ICRI. During professional tenure of these five years she has been associated with the Multinational Biopharmaceutical Organization Quintiles Research Pvt. Ltd. Initially as Clinical Trials Assistant and now as a Sr. Clinical Project Coordinator wherein involved in coordinating trials across seven countries
The speaker displayed a great teaching temperament and aroused the student curiosity by asking them their need to understand Drug Action and the basic mechanism of drug action. She energetically and patiently shared the contents of the topic and explained it in an interesting manner to the students.
The final topic of the discussion was pertaining to Signal Transduction and also covered the topics of Agonists and Antagonists and different ways in which the drugs elicit their effect. The speaker discussed in significant detail regarding the working, effects and reactions of drugs. The students benefited a lot from the session and were able to relate their theoretic teaching in molecular biology with the practical knowledge.
