Guest Lecture – Mr. Suketu Nayak – Microsoft Evangelist “Azure”- 10th September, 2015 – Corporate Resource Cell

Rai University has always been using technical collaboration and industry partnerships as a great way to create an “interface” between the sophisticated modern methodologies and knowledge along with the raw and exciting talent of students. The Corporate Resource Cell organized a great knowledge sharing session as they invited Mr. Suketu Nayak from Microsoft Azure on 10th September 2015. The students of B.Tech 5th Semester CSE & IT, B.Tech 3rd Semester CSE & IT, Diploma 5th Semester CSE/IT, MCA -III, B.Sc.- CS were the target audience for this lecture.
Mr.Suketu Nayak is M.tech and UGC NET qualified. He has over eight years work experience. He is working as a Microsoft Evangelist in Microsoft India especially on Azure Technology. Some of his many areas of expertise include Microsoft Cloud Services, API Programming, SQL Expertise.
The speaker started on a light note by asking some warm up questions to get an understanding of his audience. He began the discussion with an Introduction to Cloud Computing and explaining the fundamentals of a cloud sharing system and its prime components. Framework installation on cloud, how to create virtual machine on Microsoft Azure server, introduction to Dreamspark, he also gave an introduction about how to join as a learning partner (Microsoft Student Partner), how to upload Websites, Database Upload, etc.
The final topic for the discussion was Filezilla introduction & Website upload on Cloud with the help of some lively diagrams and examples. The lecture was very practical and students learned all the basics of Cloud Sector and web sector.
Students got a simplified understanding of Cloud Computing and a motivation to create and upload own websites.
