Guest Lecture –Harsha Engineering-Design Engineer–Mr. Dhaval Suthar- 24th March, 2015-Corporate Resource Cell

The field of engineering requires aspiring engineers to know the process of manufacturing from the grass root level from Engineering Drawings. The Corporate the Corporate Resource Cell invited Mr. Dhaval Suthar, from Harsha Engineering Company to share his insights on the topic of “Bearing Design”.
The Speaker, Mr. Dhaval Suthar works as a Design Engineer having a good experience exceeding 5 years in the field of engineering coaching. Engineering Designs is his core area of passion. Provided trainings and conduct weekly sessions for performance and effectiveness improvement including General Manager, Senior Managers and team of 30 engineers
The speaker broke the ice by introducing the topic about designing activity for different types of bearings. He explained how different types of bearings are designed and the intricacies to be taken care while designing bearings. Further related topics standard dimensions and designation of ball bearing, thrust ball bearing were discussed.
The speaker vigorously took up the discussion to different types of bearings that are used in different types of machines and their importance in the efficient functioning of the industrial machines. He explained how the damage to these bearings could easily affect the functional efficiency and the output of the machines, forces acting on bearing, dynamic equivalent load for rolling contact bearing, lubrication of ball and roller bearing. The speaker also shared regarding some challenges that are faced while production of bearings and servicing bearings in industrial machines.
The student knowledge was enriched regarding functioning and design activity of bearings and also they got an insight into the designing and production of bearings. It was a great session.
