AMTECH ELECTRONICS, Gandhinagar on 21st March 2018

With an aim to practical knowledge above academic, Electrical Engineering Department, School of engineering & applied science, Rai University, Ahmedabad had organized a One day industrial visit to Amtech Electronics India Limited, Gandhinagar; on 21st March 2018. Total 30 students & 3 faculties from Electrical department, visited the Company.
 
The purpose of this Industrial visit was to provide an excellent opportunity to all the students & faculties, to interact and know more about industrial environment. The students are encouraged and aware in the field of Automation, Power quality, and Motor control devices.
 

Amtech has established a farsighted corporate identity. The company wants to meet future expectations of customers in the field of Motion Control, Automation, Power Quality and Industrial Electronics with further advancement offering leading technologies on a global platform. More than 300 employee working in related fields at Amtech electronics. Company has a Head Office, at Gandhinagar, which includes, R & D, Manufacturing and related disciplines and also other branch offices located at Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Amtech has also National as well as international client over the world wide.
 
The prime objective of this visit was to make students aware about the actual demands of the industry. First a small Presentation given by their expert to the students about their company, different departments, their Products and business policies. Later on, the students were divided into two groups; both the groups visited a production department one by one and experienced detailed operations of devices like VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), Electronic Soft Starter, Active harmonic filter and IGBT Module. Students were given safety instruction by their export. First, students were taken to assembly area where the machines were assembled. Technical staff of AMTECH gives detailed description about the assembly process. After that students were taken to the testing area where the different testes performed on machines before commissioning by Q&A department.
 

Outcome of visit is that students got so many new content and real life experiences to the industries. It’s not only enabled them to learn about various drives and automation where as it also gave them a practical knowledge about Industrial electronic devices as well as how to improve the Power quality issues and energy conservation techniques.
